From October 1st through the 6th, GAF, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, teamed up for the 2023 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project. Together with over 1,000 volunteers from all over the country, and the future homeowners, GAF helped build 27 single-family affordable homes in five days by providing all of the roofing material, conducting roofing training prior to the event, providing over 20 volunteers as well as roofing leadership on site while the work was being completed.
At GAF, we believe that resilience is the foundation on which we will build thriving, sustainable communities of the future, and nowhere was that more apparent than on the job site itself. "Seeing so many people work on my house, to me it says that people actually care if I have affordable housing or not. For me it means strength, it means tenacity, and it means community." says Keea Carroll, a Carter Work Project future homeowner.
