About GAFGLAS® STRATAVENT® Nailable Venting Base Sheet
Suited to all climate zones, they provide for the venting of pressurized gasses beneath the roofing membrane.
In recover applications, they provide an effective means for separating the new roofing membrane from the existing roof system. They also offer excellent wind uplift-resistance (FMRC Approved up to Class 1-345 — See FM Approval Guide for details). They are fire resistant — for use in UL Class A rated assemblies — and system guarantees are available for up to 20 years.

SBS, APP & BUR roof system product comparisons
Any discussion on asphaltic roofing will involve one or more of these three terms: SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene), APP (Atactic Polypropylene), and BUR (Built-up roofing). SBS and APP are polymers with unique characteristics, and membranes made with them are classified by ASTM numbers, types and grades. BUR is an assembly method in which multiple layers of felts are installed with hot asphalt in-between.
